Beware! Hurricane Sandy Fallout Coming to Lagos

Difficult times might be ahead for Nigerians living and doing business in Lagos. The Lagos State Government on Tuesday warned residents of the state to prepare for the ripple effect of Hurricane Sandy in the state.

Hurricane Sandy is a 2012 late-season violent tropical storm that has affected Jamaica, Cuba, the Bahamas, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and the eastern seaboard of the United States of America.

The Commissioner for Waterfront Development and Infrastructure, Mr. Adesegun Oniru, said the government was projecting that within seven to 14 days, the state would experience the ripple effect of the hurricane in its coast lines.

He explained that the government based its projection on, “experience, records and study of past happenings” and had started taking precautionary measures.

I Am Now Ready To Go After Corrupt Governors –Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan talked tough on Tuesday, syaing no corrupt governor or subsidy thief would go scot-free. He assured that the Federal Government would go after them and ensure their prosecution.

“We are going after governors who commit various economic crimes and corrupt practices with impunity," he said while stressing that his reform agenda relies on a corrupt-free system in order to build strong institutions that would guarantee sustainable development.

"As you may be aware, government is taking every legal measure to ensure that those who defrauded the government in the petroleum subsidy scheme are made to pay back the stolen funds. They will also be severely punished,” he added

Jonathan spoke through Vice-President Namadi Sambo at the formal presentation and launch of a book, “Reforming the Unreformable: Lessons from Nigeria,”in Abuja. The book was written by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

The president said that the problem of creating jobs and fighting corruption needed urgent attention. “Reforms perform better in an atmosphere of democracy and freedom and we are continuing to work to ensure that sound democratic principles are held in the country.

“The challenges of creating jobs and fighting corruption need urgent attention and I am glad to reiterate that these concerns are already being tackled in the current transformation agenda of this administration,” he said

Controversy Over Governor Ajimobi's Wife 'Arrest' For Money Laundering

An evening newspaper on Tuesday in its online version, published a report entitled ‘Anxiety over Florence Ajimobi’s alleged arrest in UK.’ An online agency, Newsleak, also claimed that the wife of the governor of Oyo State had been arrested in London for money laundering.

But Governor Abiola Ajimobi's wife, Florence, has denied reports of her arrest by the Metropolitan Police in London, but confirmed that she's in the UK.

Speaking with journalists in a telephone interview on Tuesday, the governor’s wife described the news of her arrest as the handiwork of the opposition trying to discredit the Ajimobi-led administration in the state.

Asked if she was invited by the police since her arrival in London, she said, “No, not at all. I came back with my daughter on Sunday. Now, I am getting ready to come back home. I have not been invited by the police and I don’t know what all this is about.”

On the reason for her latest trip abroad, she said she took her 14-year-old daughter back to school after her holiday. “I have a 14-year-old daughter who has been here since 2007. She came to Nigeria for two weeks; we left Nigeria on Sunday morning. That is my mission here.

“I read the report here in England. I was shocked. I read it but there is no iota of truth in everything they wrote. I’m sure it is the work of the opposition and I am surprised that some people can descend so low to write falsehood.

“I am expected back in the country tomorrow (Wednesday) morning,” she said.

Asked to confirm the allegation that she had since the inception of the administration traveled for 52 times, she simply said, “It then means I am not living in Nigeria. Maybe, when I travel back, I will show you my passport to count how many times I have traveled.

“I want you to deal with facts. If you look at my passport since 2007 and compare the way I travelled then with the way I travel now, you will discover that I travel less now.

“My daughter is complaining that I am not regular here. I make her come to Nigeria more because I can’t afford to spend 10 days or more over here.”

Meanwhile, the governor has instituted a N1bn suit against the Independent Communications Network Limited, publishers of PM News for the report

Nigerian Female Sex Trafficker Sentenced to 20yrs In Prison

Osezua Osolase, a 42 year old Nigerian man ho carried out witchcraft on teenage girls he trafficked from Nigeria to Europe for prostitution has been jailed for 20 years. It was recommended by the jury that Mr Osolase be deported once he has served his sentence.

Mr Osolase from Gravesend, Kent is reported to preyed on poverty-stricken orphans with the promise of a better life, Canterbury Crown Court heard. Judge Adele Williams told him he was devoid of conscience and compassion.

Mr Osolase was found guilty of five counts of trafficking, one of rape and one of sexual activity with a child.

The jury was told in a six-week trial which ended on Friday that West African “juju rituals” were used to instil terror into Osolase’s three vulnerable victims, one aged just 14. ‘Exploitation and degradation’ The judge said the recycling worker, who has HIV, put his victims “in fear” to force their obedience and secure their silence.

“You were dealing in exploitation and manipulation and degradation,” she told Mr Osolase. “You are undoubtedly a very, very dishonest man. You are arrogant and manipulative; you are devoid of conscience, devoid of any compassion to your victims.”

The judge said Mr Osolase treated the girls as objects to be sold as sex slaves. The fact that he raped one girl knowing he had HIV was a “seriously aggravating” feature. Mr Osolase is alleged to take the girls to his home in Gravesend before sending them to work as prostitutes in mainland Europe.

The court had heard girls were trafficked into the UK and taken to Mr Osolase’s home in Gravesend before being sent to work as prostitutes in mainland Europe. One of the girls described the Juju ceremony performed on her in Nigeria. During the ritual, samples of blood were extracted from the girl and her head hair and pubic hair were also cut.

She was then told to swear an oath of silence. Osolase was stopped at Stansted airport in April 2011 attempting to board a plane.

Anthony Orchard QC, defending, said Mr Osolase disclosed that he had HIV voluntarily to police. “Mr Osolase acknowledges and regrets the consequences of his actions in relation to taking the girls out of the UK, and he has to bear the consequences of those actions,” Mr Orchard told the court

Kaduna: Bomber targeted to kill over 1000 – Yakowa

Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State ,yesterday, said the aim of the suicide bomber that blew off himself and killed eight worshippers at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Badarwa, Kaduna last Sunday was to kill the entire 1000-plus worshippers attending mass that day.

The governor, who returned from a one-week holiday, Sunday evening, took a tour of the bombed church and visited the injured taking treatment in five different hospitals, saying government will foot their bills and “assist” owners of  affected property near the church.

Normalcy returns
Meanwhile, normal activities have resumed in the town with schools, markets, shops, and all public offices opened. But, a convoy of armed soldiers patrol the major streets of Kaduna to establish their presence.

Speaking at a press conference, yesterday, after what he said was a five-hour tour  to see for himself what happened, Yakowa said:  “I have gone to the affected church, and I have visited all the injured patients and I am deeply saddened by what happened, but I thank God, because it could have been worse.

“I met the officiating Priest  during the Mass Service. His name is Rev. Father Mike Bunni. He was able to tell me that the bomber was very determined to kill all the over 1000 worshippers in the church. And you could  see how daring he was. He did not go through the gate. He drove straight against the fenced wall of the church.

“The Priest said if the fence of the church was not strong, he could have driven through the walls of the church and detonated the bomb there. But the bomb went off just outside the  door of the church and brought it down. That was why the casualties were not that much. Four were killed. That was what I was told. About 100 were injured.  So, you see, we have to thank God for his infinite grace, because the situation could have been worse.

“I was at the 44 Army Referral Hospital, St Gerard Hospital, Garkuwa Hospital Barau Dikko and Multi-Clinic Hospitals. I want to say that though they are in various degrees of pain, they are all in high spirits. I spoke to them, and they all said it was an act of God.

No amount of terror will frustrate me from worshipping Christ —Priest
“The Priest told me that no amount of terror will frustrate him from worshiping Christ, and that terror cannot dictate how we worship God.

“I want to use this opportunity to also say that no amount of wickedness of terrorism will deter us from pursuing our agenda of peace, development and security. The few evil ones in this state cannot frustrate the state.

“All the victims will be treated at the expense of the state government, and I have assured all the Medical Directors of these hospitals. We will also assist the owners of the damaged property near the church. And this means that we have to spend on what we have not planned for.”

He then thanked all that came out to assist the victims and praised Christian youths for not going into reprisal attacks.

The Deputy Speaker, Kaduna House of Assembly, Dr. Dogara Matto, spoke at the press conference and said the House was ready to pass into law under 24-hours any law that would improve peace and security in the state.

The Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna, Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, also addressed the press and said: “I want to appeal to all our youths to always refrain from taking the law into their hands by taking on innocent people each time this kind of evil takes place. Evil cannot set the pace on how we should leave with one another. I thank them for heeding to this advice.”

Boko Haram Training Camp Traced To Mali --Intelligence Report

The search for a lasting solution to the perennial campaign of violence by the Islamist sect, Boko Haram, has taken President Goodluck Jonathan and his National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki (retd) to Bamako, the capital of Mali, for a secret meeting with the civilian and military authorities in the troubled West African country, following a strong intelligence report which shows/identifies that Mali’s northern region is being used as the operational base of the dreaded sect.

The presidency had, in a statement by presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, announced on Wednesday, October 17 a two-day working visit by President Jonathan to Niger Republic and Mali. While the president was scheduled to attend a meeting of the High Authority of the Nigeria-Niger Joint Commission, in Niamey, with President Issoufou Mohammadou of Niger Republic to revitalise and reposition the 41-year-old commission, as a primary platform towards addressing emerging cross-border challenges, the statement added that on his way back on Friday,

October 19, he would make a stopover in Bamako, the Malian capital, for further consultations on efforts by ECOWAS and the UN Security Council, to restore normalcy to that country.  Saturday Sun, however, gathered from diplomatic and presidency sources that the meeting in Niamey was a mere decoy for President Jonathan to “seek collaboration and cooperation of both the military and civilian authorities in Mali on how best the operational base of Nigeria’s Boko Haram in the north of Mali, which is under the firm control of Islamist groups and Tuareg rebels, who took control of the region following a coup in March.” A reliable diplomatic source revealed that rather than making just a stopover in Bamako, as announced by Abati in his statement,

“the Nigerian president actually left Niamey, Niger Republic on Thursday, October 18 and went straight for the main goal of his trip, which is to hold talks with the Malian authorities, as part of efforts to dismantle the main structure of Boko Haram in the North of the country (Mali).” It was gathered that a recent intelligence support for Nigeria had confirmed that Boko Haram militants were being trained and armed in northern Mali, where the leader of the sect, Sheik Mohammed Shekau, is also believed to be hiding and coordinating attacks on Nigerian targets.

Based on this, the diplomatic source revealed that Nigeria became more interested in the politics and political stability of Mali. The military junta in Mali, headed by Captain Amadou Sanogo, had seized power on March 22, accusing the democratic government of President Amadou Toumani Toure of failing to deal effectively with a Tuareg rebellion that had started in January. Islamist groups then took advantage of the chaos and seized all the region’s major towns, including the historic city of Timbuktu.

Former parliament speaker, Diouncounda Traore later emerged as interim president, following international pressures on the military junta to relinquish power. It was further gathered that President Jonathan’s last week visit was to consolidate on recent visits and discussions by the NSA and some top officials of the defence and foreign affairs ministries to Mali.

Part of the discussions, at the meeting, between President Jonathan and Mali’s interim president Traore, was “to stabilise the civilian regime of Traore, mobilise African and ECOWAS forces to Mali, with a view to flushing out all islamist groups and rebels, including Boko Haram leaders that had taken control of North of Mali.” In a separate discussion with Captain Sanogo, President Jonathan was said to have offered him a political asylum in Nigeria to pave the way for Traore’s full control of Mali’s armed forces, which are still loyal to Sanogo. “If the Nigerian government can get Traore relocated to Nigeria, the stability Nigeria needs in Mali to fight its own enemy hiding and operating from our territory would have been achieved half-way,” a diplomatic source privy to the development told Saturday Sun. It was, however, not yet clear at press time whether Traore has accepted the offer of asylum from President Jonathan.

“What is certain is the success of the war against Boko Haram depends largely on the stability in Mali and the ability of the African and the entire international community to dislodge all rebels and Islamist groups operating in northern Mali because if you observe closely, they share the same religious ideology and modus operandi with Boko Haram militants. If you follow developments there, you will notice that the Islamists have imposed a harsh interpretation of Sharia in the areas they control in the north of Mali and there are reports of people being stoned to death and having their limbs amputated,” the source added.

Mother Leaves Day-Old Baby To Die On The Road In Calabar

A two-day old baby abandoned by an unknown mother was found dead behind the Medical Students Hostel, University of Calabar near the office of the Cross River State first lady, Mrs. Obioma Liyel-Imoke. Mrs. Imoke in the last five years had been waging war against teenage pregnancy and child abandonment through her pets’ projects and had been able to put a stop to rampant baby abandonment in the state despite alleged campaign of calumny carried recently against her.

Speaking at the scene where the dead baby was abandoned, special assistant to the Governor on Public Health/ NGO and Special Projects, Dr. Regina Ejemot-Nwadiaro said her attention was drawn to the incident by an anonymous caller which prompted her presence at the scene.

Nwadiaro said that immediately she got to the place, she called the Calabar Urban Development Authority, CUDA, who quickly responded to the call and subsequently alerted the Police. She condemned the perpetrator of which she described as a dastardly act, callous, inhuman and outright wickedness.

According to her, “for the past five years the wife of the State Governor Mrs. Obioma Liyel-Imoke, has been championing the stamping out of teenage pregnancy child abandonment in the state through her project; Mothers’ Against Child Abandonment (MACA). “It is thus, disheartening that in spite of the consistent efforts by Mrs. Obioma Liyel-Imoke and the MACA team, people could still dump babies.”

Brazilian Student, 20, Agrees To Sell Her Virginity For $780,000 (PHOTO and VIDEO)

Virgin ... Catarina will undergo medical tests
A BRAZILIAN student has reportedly sold her virginity for almost half a million pounds in an online auction.
Catarina Migliorini, 20, was one of two virgins to take part in the auction for an Australian documentary.
A Japanese man bid £487,000 to be the first to take her to bed.

Catarina said she would use the money to study medicine in Argentina, according to Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo.

“I am 20, I am responsible for my body and I am not hurting anyone,” she said.
“For me, it’s not prostitution. When someone does something once in his or her life, this is not considered a profession. If you take a picture and it comes out good, you are not a photographer because of it.”
Russian lad Alexander Stepanov also sold his virginity on the Virgins Wanted auction, receiving the winning bid of £1,876 from Brazil.
The documentary has attracted criticism on its Facebook page with several users voicing concerns over the ethics of the auction.

According to the auction’s terms, Catarina will undergo a medical examination to prove she is a virgin and the consummation will take place within the next ten days.
The "rules" also ban the use of intimacy gadgets, kissing and recording, as well as stipulating a minimum time of one hour.

Each virgin will reportedly receive $20,000 as well as 90 percent of their "sale" figure.
Catarina was previously said to be taking part to raise money for the poor.

University Cultists Force Female Students To Act Lesbian Film

The Nigerian Army in Enugu has paraded 21 Enugu State University of Science and Technology students for allegedly torturing and forcing some female students to have stuff among themselves.

The students, most of who confessed to being cultists, told journalists that they took video shots of the lésbian act because they had been offered money by some influential Nigerians.

The idea, the suspects said, was to take tapes of the scenes to their partners in Europe.

Shortly before parading the suspects on Saturday, the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Maj. Gen. Sarkin Yaki Bello, who spoke through the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Lt. Col. Sagir Musa, said the cultists, were arrested in their hideouts at Agbani on the outskirts of Enugu between July 8 and 12, 2011.

Bello said the patrol team of 103 Battalion moved to the ESUT following persistent gunshots at the institution on July 4 and arrested one of the masterminds of the crime, Mr Franklin Anikwe, with five rounds of ammunition.

The GOC said he had directed that a thorough investigation be carried out in order to fish out the pepetrators.

He said, “It was the preliminary investigation conducted by the division’s intelligence group that led to the arrest of the 19 other suspects. Some of the items recoverd from them are four locally made pistols, 10AA cartridges and video clips where the female students were forced to have illicit stuff with themselves during the raid.”

Also recovered were 10 mobile telephone handsets, including the one used for recording the dirty scenes.

Woman Gives Birth To LIVE Monkey In Benue State

It sure sounds unbelievable, but a young Nigerian woman has been delivered of a monkey-like monster in Otukpo, a popular town in Benue State. The outré event took place recently at St Theresa Hospital, Otukpo, when the woman said to be the wife of a hunter from Oju Local Government Area of the state gave birth to a creature that looks like a monkey.

The strange delivery, we gathered came as a surprise to the already mother of nine the who had successfully delivered nine children in the past and was having her 10th child before the strange creature visited her. According to an eyewitness, when the news broke out, residents of the town, especially those at the nearby Otukpo main market rushed to the hospital to see for themselves.

Describing the strange development as conginental malformation, Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Stanley Bwala said the malformation could have been forestalled if the woman was attending antenatal care regularly and advised pregnant women to always avail themselves to routine ante natal treatment.

However, it was gathered that as soon as the hunter heard about the delivery, he came and removed the monster from the hospital, even as observers believed the abnormal birth was a usual occurrence to hunters who have killed several animals during hunting. In a brief chat with elder Adah Okoh, a traditional ruler in the area, he noted that in the Idoma tradition, such child should not be allowed to stay with the mother for fear of reincarnation. Asked if the monster should be buried alive or killed, elder Okoh said that should be left for the family to decide.

‘I can't do without s*x daily' - 10yr old sexually abused girl confesses

A 10-year old girl who was a victim of sexual abuse has made a shocking confession, saying that she cannot do without having s*x with men daily.
She narrated how an old man, who was their neighbour at Mile 12, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, lured her into s*x at seven and since then she cannot resist having s*x everyday. The primary two pupil said if she did not see any man to have s*x with her in her area, she would go to a popular under bridge at Mile 12 Lagos and beg for s*x from touts.

She said she came from Enugu state to Lagos to live with her aunt after the death of her father.
Her case has become so serious that she had to be referred to an NGO, Community Health Support and Empowerment Initiative, COHSAEI, which has taken up the challenge to rehabilitate her.
The little girl said she was lured into s*x by a man she called Baba who lived with her aunt in the same compound.

She said the man (Baba) usually called her to his apartment whenever his wife and her aunt were not around and will put his finger inside her private part.
“He will tell me to come back home immediately our school closes and when I reach home he will be waiting for me to finger my v*gina,” she narrated.
She said with time he started having real s*x with her.
She said when the man that initiated her into it moved out of their area, she resorted to meeting other men in the area without her aunt knowing.

She said she has become addicted to s*x and cannot do without it.
“When I desire s*x and I do not see anybody to do it in my area, I will go under the bridge and beg the touts to do it for me,” he said.
Her predicament came when she confessed to her teacher what she was going through after the teacher noticed some abnormal behaviour in her.

The teacher contacted her aunt who contacted an NGO for assistance.
The programme coordinator of the NGO, Mrs. Priscilla Ingbia, noted that her case was very pathetic because of her age. She said her group took up the challenge to rehabilitate her because it was clear if nothing was done urgently her future was in danger.

She said her organisation has started the process of rehabilitating her by carrying out series of tests on her to ascertain her health conditions.
Ingbia stressed the urgent need to relocate her from her present environment and start a new life for her.
She said her organisation has not been able to do so because of the financial cost of doing so.

Nigerian Youths Are Lazy And Don't Read - El-Rufai

Amazingly, the controversial pint sized former minister of the FCT and now chieftain of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Malam Nasir Elrufai, has accused Nigerian youths of being lazy and quick to judge.
Elrufai made the accusation today on the Social networking site, Twitter (see tweets below) Elrufai was apparently reacting to the youths who regularly accuse him of corruption and high handedness when he was in office.
Elrufai is currently facing a corruption charge at an Abuja court bordering on the lands he seized from legitimate owners and reallocated to friends and his wives and Underaged son.
Amazingly the same Elrufai who is so sensitive to criticism regularly insults the person of the President of Nigeria on his facebook and twitter profile, using foul words to describe President Jonathan. It may be recalled that Elrufai had asked Nigerians not to vote for Muhammadu Buhari in October of 2010 alleging that Buhari was too old to be president and that he was primordial having chosen his military vice, Tunde Idiagbon, from the same region (North) as himself.
However, just two months after making that statement, Elrufai became one of Buhari's chief campaigners asking Nigerians to vote for the man he had condemned only weeks ago

Man r*ped his own Mom

South African Police are hunting for a 33-year-old suspect who allegedly raped his 55-year-old mother in Matatiele’s Luphindo village.

It is alleged that the suspect, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, forced his way into her bedroom and threatened her with a knife before dragging her to a neighbour’s house, where the alleged rape took place.

Matatiele police spokesman Lieutenant Raphael Motloung said after the incident, the suspect ran away, leaving his traumatised mother locked in the house.

Recounting the events, he said it is alleged that on October 14, at about 7pm the victim was asleep next to a male friend in her bedroom when the son knocked at their door.

Apparently the suspect came home hungry and shouted outside the house, telling his mother he wanted food.

“He was making a noise and his mother was worried about neighbours and went to open the door for him. Once inside the house he kept asking for food but his mother told him to cook for himself as she had already gone to bed,” said Motloung.

It is alleged that the suspect got angry and went to the bedroom, where he threatened to stab the friend and his mother with a bush knife he was carrying.

“He then pulled the blanket off them and dragged his mother to a neighbour’s house.

“It is alleged that he kept her there for the whole night and repeatedly raped her until the early hours. He then ran away.”

The victim reported the matter to the police and they conducted a search but it has yielded nothing and the suspect is still at large.

Motloung said it was worrying to see many older women being victims of crime in communities and called on people to report such cases to the police

Wedne Obama Planned To Divorce His Wife, Michelle?

The saying that no secret remains a secret forever is about to play a significant role in the lives and ambition of the American first family, as the race to the White House election heat up.

US business mogul Donald Trump, according to credible sources, is about to claim that he has found divorce papers of President Barack Obama and wife Michelle.

It is alleged by an analyst, Douglas Kass, that Trump will claim that the documents ‘show the First Lady and the President were at one point in their two decades of marriage seriously considering splitting up’.

Trump announced on Monday that he was set to make an announcement on Wednesday that would be ‘bordering on gigantic’ and that it would ‘possibly’ change the Presidential race.

Newsmen gathered that Trump is more favourable to Obama losing the presidential election to Mitt Romney, his fellow businessman and candidate of the Republican party

LASTMA Impounds Obasanjo’s Vehicle

A ‘cold war’ appears to brewing between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, following the confiscation of a utility vehicle belonging to Obasanjo Farms.

This is coming as the protest against the Lagos State Road Traffic Law by commercial motorcyclists (popularly called Okada) Tuesday spread to other parts of the metropolis, leaving at least one bus belonging to LAGBUS Asset Management Limited damaged.

Also, pandemonium erupted Tuesday at the Alakuko area of the state, following the alleged killing of a commercial motorcyclist, and injuring another by one of the policemen allegedly attached to Alakuko Police Station, Area G, Ogba Command.

However, it was gathered that the Obasanjo Farms vehicle was impounded by officials of the state Transport Management Agency (LASTMA) over the weekend, for contravening the traffic law.

Though Obasanjo was alleged to have made efforts to get the vehicle released, which proved abortive, the action was, however, said to have led to the forceful seizure of 10 LAG buses, which were alleged to have been taken into the premises of Obasanjo Farms between last week Friday and Sunday.

However, effort to get the Chief Executive of LASTMA, Mr. Young Arabamen, to comment on the development proved abortive as his secretary said he was in a meeting.

Equally, the protest was said to have started very early Tuesday at Kola Bus Stop along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, following alleged arrests and extortion of commercial motorcyclists by law enforcement agencies.

Despite the protest, security operatives attached to the state Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit and Rapid Response (RRS) were said to have stepped up the enforcement of the traffic law, an outcome of which led to impounding of about 3,000 commercial motorcycles in different parts of the state.

Quote
Since last weekend, about 10 LAG buses belonging to the Lagos State Government have been impounded in Ota, Ogun State and packed in Obasanjo Farms. This happened in retaliation over the confiscation of a utility vehicle last Friday belonging to Obasanjo Farms owned by the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

I heard that the vehicle belonging to Obasanjo Farms was seized by the officials of Lagos State Transport Management Agency (LASTMA) for contravening traffic law and after Obasanjo’s efforts failed to get the vehicle released, even personally calling Fashola and I was reliably informed that the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola turned down Obasanjo’s pleas for the release of his vehicle but instead advised him that his company should obey the law.
Obasanjo's company allegedly instigated some miscreants to forcefully seize over 10 LAG buses that crossed the Lagos-Ogun boundary in Ota and following the alleged seizure of the LAG buses, the management of the bus company has halted all further operations to Ota axis until further notice

Students Kidnap Female Colleague, Assault, And Bury Her In A Forest

TWO students of Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, Henry Edewo, 21 and Emmanuel Isikhuime, have been arrested by the Police for kidnapping, mol**st*ng and murdering a female student, one Mercy Peter, 21, also a student of the institution.

They were alleged to have buried their victim in a shallow grave in a forest at Ugbor village, Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, after k**ling her.

newsmen gathered that the victim, who was kidnapped on July 29, this year, was killed four days later after she was serially molestd by the suspects.

They were also alleged to have continued to demand for ransom from her parents after k***ling her.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Anthony Airhuoyo, however, told newsmen that the police made a breakthrough in the case on October 17 when two of the suspects were arrested.

He added that a third suspect, whose name was given as Charles, was still on the run.

Airhuoyo disclosed that the suspects took the police to the spot where they buried Mercy and her corpse was exhumed. He said they were awaiting autopsy report

Disadvantages Of Being Handsome

I'd say i'm a pretty handsome guy, and girls tell me so so i have no reason to argue.
but I did notice that it only started later in my life, i guess i matured well idk.
Plus i work out more, eat healthier and dress better than I used to, so i'm sure that makes a difference.
So I have noticed a stark difference in the way i'm treated (remember i live in the US so it may be different for US readers)

1. Gays- Gay men stare at men the way men stare at women. It's annoying and infuriating and makes me want to fight but I'm not an so i refrain. Either way the worst part about it is gay men staring or trying to talk to you. So when a guy you think is straight glances at your arm or chest. Abomination

2. Older Women- Older women are pushy and aggressive and don't know when to turn it off. The worst part is the boldest ones are the ugliest more condemned cargo. You have a flock of obasanjo looking women constantly making you uncomfortable. The worst is they're openly biased towards you and will talk about you to everyone creating a lot of awkward tension and unwanted attention.

3. Assumed to be a player- Women assume you're a player for no reason. They'll take you less seriously and question your motives the whole time.

4. Jealous Men- The most women think im handsome the more men want to fight or beef me. They constantly think I'm trying to compete with them, and CONSTANTY beefing and fighting are key. What makes it worst is a lot of their girlfriends will try to give them an impression that they like you so that their boyfriend can fight you and she can feel like he loves her more. Men become more preoccupied with you and your motives and life becomes more dramatic and complex.

5. Being called gay- The stereotype in the US is if you're an attractive well dress man you're gay as Americans expect their men to be simple dressers and not good looking.

6. Attracting useless women- Sure you attract more girls, but with the quantity comes a drop in quality. You'll constantly run into useless superficial women with no substance while the ones with substance are not phased or impressed by your looks.

7.Amebor- Everyone's in your business and wants to know who you're sleeping with.

8. Voltrons- You get women that you don't want that won't leave you alone no matter what. They'll stalk your facebook liking everything you do, constantly talk about you, and acting like you're their best friend. A lot of them will being acting like they're your best friend before they tell you their name. You can always find these if they use your name in every sentence while talking to you.

9. Women playing games with your name- lastly, women will use your name to play games. If you joke with one she'll tell everyone you were flirting with her. If you flirt with her she'll tell everyone you guys were 'talking' or 'had something'. If you sleep with one girl, any girl you like they will tell that one girl that you slept with the previous girl. They'll gossip with your name to build themselves up and to tear down your chances with other women out of jealousy.

Like i said, I've probably matured well but it didn't used to be this way. Either way I'm happy with the way I look now.

The father who has lost everything

Sole survivor: Abdul Shakoor (centre with white shirt) walked hand in hand to the cemetery today to say goodbye to his wife and five children who died in a house fire last week

A father who is the sole survivor of a house fire which k**led his wife and five children attended the family’s funeral today.

Abdul Shakoor joined family from Britain, Pakistan and America for the funeral at the Harlow Islamic Centre after the blaze which k***led his wife Sabah Usmani and children Hira, 12, Sohaib, 11, Muneeb, 9, Rayyan, 6, and Maheen, 3 in Harlow, Essex, last week.
Tragic accident: Essex Police initially suspected an arson attack but it is now thought 'increasingly likely' that the fire was a tragic accident
Dr Shakoor, 45, had been discharged from Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford on Friday where he was treated for smoke inhalation as he fought to rescue his family at their end-of-terrace house.

A foot procession to the nearby Parringdon Road cemetery followed prayers at the centre.
Martyrs: The victims (from left) Hira, 12, Sohaib, 11, their mother Sabah Usmani, Rayyan, 6, Muneeb, 9 and Maheen, 3. At the service, the imam said those killed by fire die as martyr

Six hearses led the way, from that carrying the smallest coffin belonging to Maheen, who was due to celebrate her fourth birthday yesterday, to Dr Usmani at the rear. Dr Shakoor followed behind, with community elders holding his hands in a show of solidarity. At the service the imam reassured some 400 mourners that, under Islamic tradition, those killed by fire die as martyrs.

Motorcyclist sells nurse to ritual killers for N10,000

A commercial motorcyclist, identified simply as Ifeanyi, has been arrested for allegedly handing over a nurse, Mrs. Helen Ilonge (picture above), to ritual killers after collecting N10, 000.

Punch Metro learnt that Ilonge had on Tuesday last week took Ifeanyi’s motorcycle on her way to Igoli along the Ogoja-Ikom Highway in Ogoja LGA. Ilonge, the coordinator of Primary Health Care in Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, was coming from a programme at the Assemblies of God Church, Abakaliki in Ebonyi State, and had alighted from a vehicle at Okpongrinya junction before taking the bike.

It was gathered that Ilonge (51) was beheaded while her other vital reproductive parts such as breast and vagina were removed for ritual purposes.

Ilonge’s neighbour, Mrs. Theresa Idagwu, on Sunday said, “Ifeanyi took the lady from Okpogrinya Junction on the pretence that he was taking her to the village, which is 10 minutes drive from the point. But along the way, he stopped and handed her over to kidnappers at Ukpe. Meanwhile, the woman had called her daughter, Victoria, around 9pm that she had taken a bike at Okpogrinya Junction on her way to Igoli.

She said when she gets to her destination; she would call again so that Victoria would boil water for her to take her bath. That was Ilonge’s last call.” Repeated calls made to the woman’s line, according to Idagwu, indicated that it was switched off. She said Ilonge’s family became worried when the woman did not return home. “We went everywhere- police stations, hospitals and even her friends in Igoli, thinking that may be an accident had occurred along the road but we got nothing,” Idagwu added. Two days later, Idagwu said someone called Victoria on her phone and informed her that her mother had been kidnapped. The caller demanded a ransom of N50, 000 to be remitted in form of recharge cards.

She said, “Since her daughter could not raise the money, she rushed to the Bekwarra LGA headquarters where the head of administration, Mr. Bisong Bogbo, and the chairman, Mr. Linus Edeh, provided the money with which she bought recharge cards and sent to the caller. “The voice claimed that he needed the recharge cards so he could sell and run away from his master who is a ritual killer. He claimed that he had been serving his master for a long time and wanted to run away. He said once he gets the cards, he will break the door where the nurse is being kept and release her.” The LGA’s head of administration, Bogbo, confirmed that the cards were sent to the kidnapper through Victoria’s telephone.

He said immediately the alleged kidnapper confirmed receipt of the cards; he switched off his telephone. Luck, however, ran out of Ifeanyi. Policemen tracked his telephone line and discovered that he called Victoria from Abuochiche. Further investigations, it was gathered, showed that Ifeanyi had been selling the cards in the village immediately he got them. When he was arrested, Bogbo told our correspondent that Ifeanyi led the police to one of the ritual killers identified simply as Elvis. Elvis, according to Bogbo, confessed that the nurse had already been killed and some of her vital organs removed before Ifeanyi asked for the recharge cards. Elvis also said the remains of the woman were buried in a swamp. At the council headquarters, one of the late nurse’s colleagues, Mr. Gabriel Ogar, said she was probably the kindest woman he ever worked with.

Ogar said, “I have worked with five coordinators, but I know that she is just the best so far. She worked to the admiration of Governor Liyel Imoke and now she has been killed leaving her five children without a helper. “Her husband died 12 years ago and since then she has been the one taking care of the children and only one has graduated. Please let the government do something for those poor children.” When contacted on Monday, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Osita Ezechukwu, said the police were still investigating the matter. He said four suspects had been apprehended by the anti-homicide unit, adding that when the investigation was completed the suspects would be prosecuted. “We have taken confessional statement from them. Those who are not involved have been allowed to go while those who are involved are still in detention,” Ezechukwu said.

Lagos State To Enforce Uniforms For Molue Drivers, Conductors and Agberos

Commercial bus drivers and conductors will begin to wear uniforms and badges as from January 2013, says the Lagos State Government.

Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa disclosed this at the weekend at a sensitisation programme for transporters on the new Road Traffic Law at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

According to Opeifa, from 1 January, all commercial bus drivers and conductors would begin to wear uniforms and badges in line with the provision of the traffic law.

He explained that the state government wants to sanitise commercial road transportation in the state so that operators in the sector could be proud of their job while quacks would be eliminated.

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye, declared that the state Road Traffic Law was not intended to be another source of revenue generation for the state government, stressing that the law was rather enacted for public good and to protect the interest of the citizens.

Ipaye stated that the penalties for road traffic offences were to serve as a deterrent to road traffic offenders thereby guaranteeing safety on the roads. He called on law enforcement agents to always seek how they could assist road users to comply with traffic rules rather than focusing on arresting of people on flimsy excuses.

The commissioner enjoined members of the public who were aggrieved by their arrest and penalties imposed on them on account of traffic offences could approach the Office of Public Defender which would defend them free of charge.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lateef Ibirogba urged them to first comply with the law, insisting that in any civilised society there must be rules and regulations which must be obeyed for there to be peace and order.

Special Adviser to the State Governor on Political and Legislative Powers, Muslim Folami, stated that the sensitization programme was aimed at educating members of the road transport unions on their rights and obligations under the road traffic law so as to facilitate compliance to the law.

Video – TB Joshua Heals a Man Who was Crippled For 10years

What you are about to watch is perfect demonstration of the same kind of miracle that happened in the life of the man at the Beautiful Gate in Acts3.

In a scene reminiscent of the biblical story where a crippled man begging for alms was healed by Apostles Peter and John at the Beautiful Gate, a man, Ajayi Ogunleye, is seen in the painfully dragging himself along the ground in clear distress, as the narrator describes his crippling condition that had lasted 10 years and resulted in him begging on the streets as a means of survival.

Joshua, who looks much younger, uncannily slimmer and far less groomed than now, is then seen walking in the midst of an excited crowd before stopping next to the man, praying for him and instructing him to rise up, in Jesus’ name. As the man slowly rises up and takes his first steps, Joshua quickly exits the
scene. Watch and see for yourself below and give God the glory!

I’m Pregnant For My Married Boyfriend, He Doesn’t Know I’m Also HIV+ – Should I Tell Him?

Dear 247Gist ,

I’m a young lady aged 27 from Lagos, I was on the street working as a s*x worker for about a year and a half until I met this man.

I was only doing that to raise money for my school. This man took me to his place and we slept together. We never used protection, because he insisted and offered to pay a lot more for going in without protection so I gave in.

Then he told me not to go back to the streets, he said he wanted me to be his girlfriend until his wife who is abroad returned home. Since then he has been sleeping with me just like his own wife.

I got pregnant for him and one day during a routine check for all pregnant women I tested positive to HIV but I have not told him about it. This man is an accountant and lives a comfortable life and can’t afford to lose him. His wife will be returning from UK in December but I’m not ready to move out because I feel he’s also my husband.

What can I do at this point? I feel so confused and don’t know what to do. Should i tell him?

–Confused Lady”
